Old, New, Borrowed, & Blue

Blog posts are taking a pause behind regular work, busy bee secret business things, and of course, wedding planning. I'd expect this to remain the case until post-honeymoon, which I don't even want to think about! So anxious and giddy about getting married, but also quite tired of moonlighting as a wedding planner. Last night, my mom and I went for my final wedding dress fitting, including ensuring all of the little details matched. (Which they do, perfectly!) We left the bridal store with my dress and I'd be lying if I said I didn't happy cry. I can't tell if I'm in the fog of a romantic dream or if this is truly my life now! :) #fairytalestatus I also finalized my old, new, borrowed & blue tradition during the regular Tuesday night Monon walk with Shear Bear. It's hard not interchanging the borrowed and old elements, but I locked it down. Slightly proud of the "old" item that dawned on me, because it's not simply a fancy item I picked up at an antique store, like a lot of our wedding decor details. My family has a lot of fascinating history that means a lot to me, and I wanted to find pieces that hold meaning to my heart. Something Old 4711 eau de cologne - The German cologne my great-grandfather & great-grandmother wore. I believe my step-great-grandmother still wears it today. Something New Wedding dress! Obviously :) A wedding gift from my mom. Something Borrowed
My mom's pearl earrings - To match my wedding dress, our 1920's vintage ambiance, and to represent the woman who helped me become who I am today. (She's walking me down the aisle, too. Love my Shear Bear.) Something Blue
The Garter - A simple, scandalous touch to another tradition. Almost went with Betsey Johnson heels from the Blue collection with a blue sole, but Badgley Mischka stole my style heart with bridal shoes that perfectly match my dress. Did I mention that I can't wait to marry Zachery Lee Porter? It's basically all that's been on my mind lately (Even at 2:30am when I just wake up to pee and then can't turn my brain off to go back to sleep.) as we are only 17 days until the day!!! And, yes, the blog will be getting a name update :)
